Full Service Design

Our signature offering, this end-to-end service covers just about everything to create a fully completed, beautiful home — one that is a true reflection of you and how you want to live — executed with a high level of service and expertise.

This is for you if –

You have an idea of what you want your house to look, feel and function like, but don’t know how to pull it all together

You don’t have the time, expertise (or desire) to undertake a large project on your own

You want something completely unique and tailored to you, for the long-term

You’re happy to outsource the design, sourcing & execution of your project to a professional

You’d like to have input in what you want, but you’re happy to hand over all the heavy lifting, the logistics, and detailed decisions to a professional

What we provide –

A 2-hr consult at your home with Alex to refine the style, scope, timeline and budget of your project

A second meeting to present the fee proposal and style direction

Access to Alex and her design team for the duration of your project as your personal design advisor and project consultant

Design, selection & sourcing and management of your project from start to finish

Coordination of all trades and services, including working on your behalf during the on-site works, and problem-solving any issues for you

Final furniture installation and ‘reveal’ of your finished home

Peace of mind and confidence that your home will be beautiful, functional and feel like “you” – elevated

    How do I know if you’re the right designer for me?

    Choosing an interior designer can be a big decision and one that we don’t want you to take lightly. It’s a highly personalised service and is generally quite a long-term relationship.

    For this reason, it’s really important to us that we have a genuine connection with you and your vision, and that we can trust and respect one another. So, before we agree to work together, we have a number of steps we take to make sure we’re a good fit, before a project is confirmed.

    We begin with a phone conversation, then an initial 2-hour design consultation in your home, followed by a meeting to present the fee proposal and initial design direction. Following these steps, you’ll have solid advice and guidance to help you move forward with your project, even if you don’t decide to continue with Vellum Interiors.

    I just have one room I need help with. Do you take on small projects too? 

    Generally we can help with just one room, depending on our current project schedule.  Get in touch and we’ll see how we can work together.

    What sort of work could you help me with? What does a project involve?

    The work we undertake as part of your project may include any or all of the following: –


    ● Interior renovation works, including structural alterations
    ● Kitchen, bathroom and laundry design
    ● Design of wardrobes and built-in joinery such as shelving and seating
    ● Selection of materials and finishes, such as flooring, tiles, wallpapers, paint and ceiling finishes


    ● Selection and sourcing of furniture, lighting, rugs and accessories
    ● Design of curtains and blinds, including fabric selections
    ● Design of custom-designed furniture pieces such as cabinets, bedheads and cushions
    ● Curation and selection of artworks, including commissioned pieces

    Project Coordination + Admin:

    ● Engaging builders, tradespeople, architects and landscape designers on your behalf
    ● Oversight and coordination of all on-site works
    ● Procurement of all selected materials and items for your home
    ● Logistics management of furniture installation
    ● Management and solving any defects or damage

    How much does Full Service Design cost?

    Each Full Service project begins with an in-person 2-hour consultation, charged at $1,100 (inc. GST). From there, a custom fee is put together, depending on the scope and requirements of the project. 

    Fees are calculated on the estimated hours to complete the work provided, based on data gathered from past projects. 

    Because of the in-depth, personalised nature of Full Service projects, minimum project fees apply. Not sure if your will be a Full Service project? Get in touch to discuss.

    How long does Full Service Design take?

    Depending on the scope of your project, the design and decoration phases of a project generally take 12+ weeks.

    The renovation and installation phases are dependent on the scope of works, the builders’ schedule, plus lead times for finishes, fittings and furniture.

    Do you have builders and tradespeople you work with?

    We do. We work with a number of different Sydney-based construction companies who we regard as our “A-Team”. We also have trusted sub-trades we will bring to work on your project as needed, such as painters, electricians, joiners, wallpaper hangers etc.

    How much do I need to be involved in the process?

    In a Full Service Design project, we take your vision, dreams and goals for your home, and then do the heavy lifting to bring it all together on your behalf. This is a “done for you” service, and your involvement can be minimal if you are happy to hand over the reigns entirely.

    If you’re after a service where you’re more involved in the nitty-gritty decision making and are happy to do the work to execute it all, a 60min Virtual Session could be better for you.

    What areas do you service?

    We are based in Sydney, Australia, and have the capability to run projects outside of Sydney as well. 

    Travel and accommodation fees apply for areas outside of Sydney.
